This year's Chasing Sprint, held at Sherwood Pines, proved to be as exciting as ever. In the mens open race, Matt Crane had a lead of half a minute over Allan Bogle in the prologue. However, in the chase, Allan overtook Matt coming home twenty seconds ahead. Mats Troeng of OK Linnac had a superb run in the chase pulling up ten places to end up third.
Similarly, in the womens open, Laura Daniel had nearly a minute lead over Claire Ward after the prologue but the places swapped in the chase as Claire came home with a clear win. Jenny Whitehead, who had been joint second after the first round, came in third just behind Laura.
The veterans and juniors were more clear cut. Jonathan Emberton won both rounds in the mens veterans as did Adam Bushnell in the juniors race. Liz Britton took home the womens junior prize and Hilary Bloor won the veterans with a convincing nine minute lead.
